Frequently Asked Questions
How do I report an Absences?
If your child is sick or unable to attend school for all or part of the day, please phone the school office by 9.00am or send a message through the HERO app (or the school app while it is still operating) so that their absence can be accounted for. This is most important to alleviate any concerns about their whereabouts. If no communication has been received from parents, then the school will contact you by text/phone call.
Children who are late (arriving after the 9am bell) need to sign in on our Vistab system in the school foyer, in case they have been marked absent by the teacher who takes the roll first thing in the morning.
If an absence is planned for a special reason and will be longer than 2 days, an email to the office or a message through the Hero app in advance is required (we will notify the teacher).
How to order Uniform!
Uniforms are now available to order though our Kindo shop. Here you will find our complete stock list and the sizes available.
Orders are made up once a week on a Friday morning. Once made up these will be delivered to your child before home time Friday afternoon. If your child is away that day we will aim to deliver the items on the next day they are at school.
If you require a uniform fitting, please email the school office with a list of what you need. Your child will then be fitted with the required uniform and the correct sizes to order will be sent home via email for you to order online.
If you would like to be there while they are fitted please let the office know and we will be in touch with a booking time.
Music Lessons on Site!
Our music teacher Vorn has a few openings after last year's Year 8s have graduated.

Sunhats!
The school uniform sunhat is required to be worn during break times in Term 4. Students who can’t find their hats will be required to play under the veranda by Rooms 3 and 4
You are able to order a new hate via kindo.
What are Houses?
HOUSES
When each student enters St Francis de Sales school they are placed in a House group. Houses
provide the opportunity for senior students to take on leadership roles and give all students a sense of belonging as they support their house.
BARBIER -BLUE HOUSE
Named after Adèle Euphrasie Barbier was a New Zealand Roman Catholic nun, teacher and religious founder. She was born in Caen, France, on 4 January 1829. Adèle Euphrasie Barbier was the founder of Congregation of Our Lady of the Missions
SIENNA -YELLOW HOUSE
Named after Catherine of Siena, a lay member of the Dominican Order, was a mystic, activist, and
author who had a great influence on Italian literature and on the Catholic Church. Canonized in 1461, she is also a Doctor of the Church.
AUBERT- GREEN HOUSE
Named after Suzanne Aubert, better known to many by her cleric name Sister Mary Joseph or Mother Aubert, was a Catholic sister who started a home for orphans and the under-privileged in Jerusalem, New Zealand on the Whanganui River in 1885.
AVILA – RED HOUSE
Named after Teresa of Ávila, also called Saint Teresa of Jesus, was a Spanish noblewoman who was
called to convent life in the Catholic Church
House leaders are elected in term 1 of each year.
